Makeover
Tips

1.

Arrive for your makeover fresh-faced – removing your own make-up beforehand leaves more time for application.

2.

Wash and style your hair before the makeover – you can ruin your make-up by washing and blow-drying afterwards.

3.

Apply your fake tan beforehand and allow it to develop so that your make-up will match the tone of your tan.

4.

It will help the make-up artist if you bring pictures of the look you are trying to achieve.

5.

You are paying for a professional service – do not leave until you are 100% happy with your make-up.

DEBS BEAUTY Q&A

I’ve never had my legs waxed but I’m thinking of getting it done before I go on holidays in September. I’ll be away for ten days and get back three days before my debs. Will I need to have them waxed again when I get back?

First, go to a salon a couple of months beforehand for a test run. If all goes well, go back two days before your holidays and that will keep you fuzz-free through your debs. Waxing sessions are usually done at six-week intervals - hair re-growth varies with individuals but most people will notice fine hairs growing back in the third week after a session. Keep in mind that waxing can be uncomfortable, or even a little painful, especially on your first time. If your skin is very sensitive avoid sessions in the week before your period as skin is more tender then.

My lips are always chapped, and l’m afraid my lipstick will look disastrous half-way through debs night. Any advice?

Use a damp, soft-bristled toothbrush to gently remove any dry skin from your lips before you apply your make-up. Avoid matte and long-lasting lipsticks as they tend to have a drying effect. Opt for a lip gloss instead – Lancome’s Juicy Tubes lip gloss is sticky enough to last in place without being gloopy. Drink lots of water, it will keep you and your lips hydrated, and it’s a healthy habit!

For glossy lips, without the gloop, you can’t beat Lancome’s Juicy Tubes. From Lancome counters nationwide.
